History and Operations: South African Airways Cargo is the division of South African Airways focusing on freight movement worldwide. SAAC uses belly space of SAA´s passenger aircraft and has two dedicated cargo aircraft - two Boeing 737-300Fs and two Boeing 737-200Fs and wants to expand its capabilities. The introduction of the two Boeing 737-300 cargo aircraft used on domestic routes has provided a succesful feeder into regional markets. SAA Cargo shipments consist of general cargo, perishables, automotives, electronics and mail from all over South Africa. The company also moves livestock, human remains, dangerous goods and valuable cargo. SAA Cargo also provide a cargo handling service to foreign airlines. SAA Cargo also leverages on the passenger network in accessing markets such as Lagos, Accra, Lusaka, Entebbe, Kinshasa, Harare, Luanda, Maputo and Nairobi. Dedicated freighter service is used to provide seamless connectivity for unitized consignments within regional markets. SAA Cargo is represented in 12 countries in Asia Pacific with direct flights to Mumbai, Hong Kong and Perth.
